Can my car make the trip from Atlanta to Dallas?

Neville Dautremont: Your car should make it. I have a friend that moved form New York, New York to Chicago in a Honda Accord. I think her car is about 10 years old and has been used with a lot of miles on it. While she was driving she forgot to get the oil changed before she left. So they had to tow it and then change the oil. Everything else was fine. You really don't need to worry so much, Honda's are very reliable. Just go to the repair shop..have them check everything. Including the axles, tires, tire pressure, the engine, you know....anti freeze and what not. Then you'll be good to go! unless they find a very bad problem....Show more

Reyes Brunell: Well you never want to be forced to do major repairs while on a long trip away from home. You would have to be prepared to sell or junk the car if you broke down with a major repair problem. The only other thing you could do if you had a major breakdown on the road would be to rent a small Penske, Ryder or U-Haul tru! ck that can pull a car trailer behind it. Then you'd load your Honda on the trailer and finish the drive to Dallas towing it behind the rental truck. However, make sure you pay for the full rental truck insurance fee if you do!Needless to say you need a good working cellular phone, and you DON'T want to be driving on weekends because if you break down on a weekend, all the garages close up early on Saturday. Drive during the daytime on weekdays....Show more

Dexter Dingus: First it may or may not make it. This is really hard to guess. It depends on how much damage was done. A bad head gasket could very well cause an over heating problem. That could very easily leave you a foot. However, if the Head Gasket was repaired, when they replaced the timing belt it should be fine. It is really hard to know for sure. SO, it is really a crap shoot as to the reliability.Bring your cell phone, and money and light out....Show more
