However, if you have a good BMW specialty mechanic on your local area it would save you a lot of money in the long run.My family and I have been driving BMW's for quite a lot of years now and so far they are very reliable. We didn't have any major issues as we maintain the car when maintenance is needed.A friend of mine told me that BMW are a pain and expensive to maintain. Yes, if you're trying to maintain a 18 year old BMW and parts are not widely available. But, in reality The 2004-2010 5 series have a lot of availabl! e parts in the market so replacing parts is not that much of a! big deal.We used to have a 2008 Honda accord in the family and we ended up costing more in maintenance as it needs an oil change and oil filter every 3-4 months and atleast a new air filter every 14 months. These alone could add up for hundreds of dollars. Yet, our BMW just needs a oil change every 6 months as it has a on-board diagnostics system. and air filter every 2 years. oil change cost about 130 bucks and air filter replacement is at 80 bucks.Get the bimmer....Show more
