answers1: NO.. if you just want to go t o any performing arts school. <br>
<br>
YES if you want to go to a GOOD performing arts school and can PROVE
IT in the AUDITION because any performing arts school worth it
hallowed halls WILL require AUDITIONS for judging acceptance ability

performing arts schools in N.Y?

answers1: LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts is
pretty good. <br>
<br>
Um, American Musical and Dramatic Academy, it's really what you make
of it. Crappy housing (from what I hear from multiple students) but on
the brightside, some of the teachers are awesome. You're going to have
to work your behind off. They push their students HARD. <br>
<br>
Request a tour of the campus, talk to students, ask if you can sit in
on a class or two and then decide for yourself.

Any good Performing Arts school?

answers1: Okay, first of all, it is NOT too late to schedule an
audition with Laguardia. Tell your guidance counselor IMMEDIATELY that
you want to audition for Laguardia. The deadline to sign up for the
audition is this week, so don't wait! <br>
<br>
Laguardia DOES allow kids to audition in 9th grade for admission in
10th grade. <br>
<br>
Actually, the way you audition for any of the performing arts schools
is the same: tell your guidance counselor immediately. You can sign up
for an audition this week only. The deadline is coming up now! <br>
<br>
The other schools you should consider are: <br>
<br>
Frank Sinatra School of the Arts <br>
<br>
PPAS <br>
<br>
Talent Unlimited <br>
<br>
Ballet Tech <br>
<br>
There are other schools with an arts focus, but they are not as good
in terms of the education you'll get there. The two that come to mind
are Grammarcy Arts and Brooklyn School of the Arts. <br>
<br>
All of the above require that you sign up for an audition THIS WEEK! <br>
<br>
Good luck.

clear my net history?

answers1: Were you looking at porn? Ha ha, jk. Go to "Tools" ->
"Internet Options" -> "Browsing History" and click delete. You will
have many options of which to delete, delete "history" first. Then
restart your computer. See if that helps, if not, then delete
temporary internet files...and if not, delete cookies. If those don't
work, then something is wrong with your computer. Good Luck!

Why do so many high school and college students hate history?

answers1: Horrible, ill prepared, unmotivated teachers fail to impart
knowledge to short attention span students incapable of integrating
social, economic, cultural, and philosophical thoughts in a fact-based
manner. <br>
<br>
It is often the worst of both worlds.
answers2: I have two degrees in history so I could probably help with
this one. One answer comes to mind immediately. The
teachers/professors do not know how to present the topic. Thankfully
I had a wonderful Honors U.S. History teacher in high school (she is a
nun) and instilled in me the importance of learning history. <br>
I was fortunate to be taught that history is not about dates or
memorizing when an event happened but about the political, economic,
religious and social ramifications of events in history. When you
have to break things down like that the wars and battles and
presidents and speeches take on an entirely different meaning. <br>
I had several great college professors as well. It truly boils down
to how the information is relayed to the students. If it is presented
in a boring way then the students will find it boring...sounds
elementary but it is very true.
answers3: because they thing of history that doesn't challenges my way
of thinking and bores me almost to piont of leaving class. they tell
the same stories of people who did let things and not the ones who
really made the difference and just of the same old people like with
black history all they talk is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr when there
are more black who did good things just like the whites during that
time who did good and not bad. too much left out information .
answers4: Because they are too young to understand why it is
important. Also, trying to learn history out of a book is a real drag.
In high school, my history teachers were coaches. They tought the bare
minimum. They were there to coach and not teach. And they made
learning it very dry and boring. The best way to learn history is to
experience it. For instance, if you want to learn the history of a
building, walk through that building and discover the history inside.
Although that's not always possible, learning history should be fun.
answers5: Totally depends on the college, the class, and the
professor. I was never in a class where we went around the room and
each read a paragraph from the text like we sometimes did in high
school. You might have to give a presentation, but you probably won't
have to do this in most of your classes unless you major in something
like Communications. On the first day of class, your professor will
probably hand out a syllabus that lists the course requirements. If
you have to make a presentation, it should be on the syllabus. Most
schools have a drop/add period so if you REALLY don't want to take a
class with that type of requirement, you can drop the class and add a
new one that doesn't have that type of requirement. Good luck!
answers6: I think some people may hate history because there is a
quote that says that "history repeats itself." So why should people
study it when it repeats itself. Irony is, many people find it
fascinating from that perspective--why don't people learn from it?
<br>
<br>
People should learn about history because those who ignore history,
are condemened to repeat it. <br>
<br>
Sometimes I wonder how well did politicians now learn or have studied
history. George Bush and Ahmadinejad are just a few to name.
answers7: Hey, speak for yourself. Many like history, and even take
history majors in university. There are so many, and I mean soooo
many branches to discover- Ancient history, Egyptian, Indian, South
East Asian, China, European, the Slavic domains, Biblical history,
Middle Eastern. The concept of lost civilizations, Mexican, Mayan,
Tibetan, Incas, Atlantis, Lemuria, the list goes on. <br>
<br>
History based movies are very successful in the box office. <br>
Our world is very interesting, and to know about each others culture,
we have to know each other's vibrant and beautiful history.
answers8: Some don't like the various facts that need to be remembered
for tests. Some don't like all of the reading. Some think it's
boring and do not appreciate the necessity of knowing about the past
and how the future is usually nothing new, but a repeat of past
things. <br>
<br>
It's sad that people don't appreciate history because many lies are
taught and people don't bother to look into history to find truth. As
it is said time and time again, if you don't know you're history,
you're bound to repeat it. So one could argue, those who don't care
about history, don't care about the future, though that is a stretch.
answers9: Three reasons: <br>
<br>
1) Many History Teachers make it about dates and not about people and
events. It is so much more important to know about the Man Columbus
then to know he first got here in 1492 <br>
<br>
2) We do nothing in schools to tie History to other topics. For
example would not the History of the Industrial Revolution in England
and reading Dickens be so much more interesting if students were told
that Dickens wrote in that time period and that he was writing as a
reaction to his own Father's life as a debtor in debtors prison? <br>
<br>
3) We teach Myths not facts. We all think that Paul Revere warned that
"The British were coming" Why the heck would he say that. He thought
of himself as British and The British army was already here. So
instead of teaching the Facts we teach myths. How many students think
Lincoln Freed the slaves? Lincoln never freed a salve. The
Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves in states in rebellion in other
words areas that Lincoln had no legal authority over. If we cut out
the myths History would be more interesting
answers10: Kids are required to memorize dates and basics, but they
aren't exposed to the really fun stuff in history, or how it relates
to things happening today. Yes, the Crusades happened from X to Y
date, but did they know that one reason it was all started was because
Europe was relatively peaceful, and the Pope was worried that knights
were fighting each other and the public instead, so he sent them out
to "battle the infidels!" Or that the Crusades are one reason we're
so hated in the Middle East? We slaughtered Muslims left and right,
without any regard for whether or not they were actually soldiers.
I'd hardly blame them for carrying a grudge.

Is there a genealogy website that I can create a family tree for free?

answers1: The future in online free family trees is coming. It is
not here yet; the timetable for general public use has not been
announced. But, I expect to see in my lifetime a real world-wide
"family tree of man" available for all to use and contribute to. Look
to the premier free Internet genealogy site, www.FamilySearch.org for
this exciting development: www.New.FamilySearch.org.
answers2: Use a website called geni.com. It's a great service, allows
you to add family members, allows your family members to update their
family trees. <br>
<br>
It's almost like a Facebook with only family members!
answers3: This should answer that question and help you majorly if you
are just starting your research!! <br>
http://www.ehow.com/how_5524859_start-genealogy-research.html
answers4: oh haha when i saw this i was going to say myheritage. well... sorry!
answers5: Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at FREEPEOPLESCAN.COM
Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan
simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller
analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest
payment. You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try
and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether
you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for
elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen,
have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are
who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves
your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but
also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if
you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a
background check.
answers6: I wouldn't recommend building your family tree online. It is
much better to compile your family tree offline in a family tree
program on your computer where you have complete control over it. You
can then select how much of it you want to upload to the internet and
to which website you wish to upload it and, if you don't like the way
that website deals with you or your data, you can remove it and use
another website. <br>
<br>
I don't like the way some websites allow you to include living people
in the online trees, which is an invasion of their privacy. For
instance, on Tribalpages I was able to view trees including children's
names, birthdays, schools, etc. I have living people in my tree on my
computer, but when I upload a file to the internet I first strip out
everyone born within the last 100 years. I also have notes on
individuals in my tree which are marked private so that these notes
will not be included in the uploaded file. <br>
<br>
You will presumably be able to download a Gedcom of the tree you have
created on myheritage.com and install it in a family tree program on
your computer. Personal Ancestral File (PAF) is a family tree program
which you can downoad for free from the LDS site at <a
href="http://www.familysearch.org/"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.familysearch.org/</a> You can
read a review of PAF (and other programs) at this site:- <br>
<a href="http://genealogy-software-review.toptenreviews.com/personal-ancestral-file-review.html"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://genealogy-software-review.toptenr...</a>
<br>
<br>
I have uploaded my family tree to the World Connect project at <a
href="http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/</a> This
site is completely free and enforces privacy for all those born within
the last 70 years without a death date. Upload what you have done so
far to check that you are happy with the way it displays. You can
upload new versions of your tree to replace the original as often as
you like. <br>
<br>
Other sites where you may upload your family tree are described here:-

does anyone have a Graham history genealogy?

answers1: You don't find out genealogy by a surname, as not everyone
who has the same name are related so many people will have the name
Graham in the family tree but it doesn't mean it is part of the same
family that you are researching. <br>
<br>
I have two Graham's in my tree neither are related to each other, I
also know a family who lives down the road from my other home in
Ireland who run several large businesses, they are not related to 'my'
Graham's ...........................................
answers2: I looked the name up on the two biggest free genealogy sites
around. You can follow the links and repeat my search. One of the
people I found may be your ggg grandfather. <br>
<br>
The first, <br>
<a href="http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/f...</a>
<br>
the free Mormon mega-site, shows <br>
505 <br>
people with it, with the "Advanced" search and "Use exact spelling"
box checked. There would probably be more with varied spellings. <br>
<br>
Note 1, they show just the first 25 from each data base, if you search
across all data bases. There could be 300 people in one specific data
base. If you click on a specific data base, they will show you all of
them, 200 at a time. <br>
<br>
Note 2, the new and improved site, <br>
<a href="https://www.familysearch.org/"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>https://www.familysearch.org/</a> <br>
may have LOTS more; some records here will show you the image, if you
register. (Registration is free and they don't spam you.) <br>
<br>
The second, <br>
<a href="http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/...</a>
<br>
(also free) has <br>
486,859 <br>
(Expect lots of duplicates - that's why there are so many, compared to
the LDS site.) <br>
If you look, be careful; the ads at the top sometimes ask for a name
and lead you astray, to a pay site. Also, even if you DO enter the
surname in the right box, not all of the data there is accurate. <br>
<br>
On both sites, again, the people are dead, some for as much as 300
years. You won't find many living people on genealogy sites, and if
you do, their names, birth dates and other facts will be hidden. <br>
<br>
Note 3, you should have 28 - 32 surnames at the ggg grandparent level,
depending on how many of your third great grandparents married a
cousin. <br>
<br>
<br>
Here are some Grahams in 1880, from the LDS 1880 census. <br>

answers3: Here's what the name means, although this won't help you
trace your personal family history- <br>
<br>
Graham Name Meaning and History <br>
Scottish and English: habitational name from Grantham in Lincolnshire,
recorded in Domesday Book as Graham (as well as Grantham, Grandham,
and Granham). See also Grantham. <br>
<br>
Grantham Name Meaning and History <br>
English: habitational name from Grantham in Lincolnshire, of uncertain
origin. The final element is Old English ham 'homestead'; the first
may be Old English grand 'gravel' or perhaps a personal name Granta,
which probably originated as a byname meaning 'snarler'. See also
Graham.

Genealogy information on the internet?

answers1: ancestry.com is awesome!!!! and FREE!!!!!!!!!!!best answer
please! check it out...
answers2: My answer is lengthy and I apologize for that but I want to
warn you of the advantages and the pitfalls of genealogy on the
internet. <br>
<br>
Websites that only have family trees are not worth a plug nickel
unless you are willing to verify the information with
documents/records. They are subscriber submitted, very seldom
documented and if they are they are poorly documented. You frequently
will see the different info on the same people from different
subscribers. Then you will see the absolute same info on the same
people from different subscribers but you would be very foolish if you
thought for one moment that that means it is correct. A lot of people
copy without verifying. The information can be useful as clues only as
to where to get the documentation. <br>
<br>
I recently found I was dead. So was my sister and my brother-in-law.
We died in New Jersey. Since the only time my sister and I were ever
in New Jersey is when our family drove through it coming from New York
in 1956. Hey! we've been dead for 52 years. It says so on the
internet. It has to be right if it is on the internet! <br>
<br>
I found out that family on both sides married and died in New Jersey.
Since my ancestry is mostly southern American colonial with some
exceptions and those exceptions came in through southern ports, I was
surprised. <br>
<br>
This tree would have been accepted by any genealogy website. You can
make up an entirely fictitious family tree and it will be accepted.
you disagree with something someone has on one of your family members,
the websites will tell you that it is between you and the other
subscriber. <br>
<br>
Now the best for the total amount of records online isn't free but
your public library might have a subscription to it. That is
Ancestry.Com. Still be careful about the information in their family
trees. <br>
<br>
Cyndi'sList.com is a website with links to many other websites, some
free and some not. Many people involved in genealogy find it helpful.
<br>
<br>
Not all records are online but the ones you will find will save you
time and money traveling to courthouses, libraries etc. <br>
<br>
However your first free source is your own family. Get information
from them. Tape your senior members if they will let you. People who
do this state they go back and listen to the tape again after doing
research and hear things they didn't hear the first time around. I am
not saying they won't be confused or wrong on some things. <br>
<br>
Find out if anybody in your family has any old family bibles. Ask to
see and make copies of birth, marriage and death certificates.
Depending on the religious faith, baptismal, first communion,
confirmation and marriage certificates from their church can be
helpful. <br>
<br>
A good free source is a Family History Center at a Latter Day
Saints(Mormon) Church. They have records on people all over the world,
not just Mormons. In Salt Lake City, they have the world's largest
genealogical collection. Their FHCs can order microfilm for you to
view at a nominal fee. <br>
<br>
They won't try to convert you, at least they haven't done so to me or
anyone else that I know.
answers3: See -- <a href="https://backgroundreports.im/ancestry"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>https://backgroundreports.im/ancestry</a>
answers4: North German, Dutch, and Danish: patronymic from Harm. <br>
English: nickname from Old English hearm 'evil', 'hurt', 'injury'. <br>
English and North German: from a short form of Harman, Hermann. <br>
South German: nickname from Middle High German harm 'ermine' <br>
<br>
If you want to know your grandfather's ancestry, you will have to do
the research.
answers5: Free genealogical websites start by doing a google search,
giving his name, date of birth, etc., in quotes, as in "john doe, born
1620, plimouth, massachusetts". <br>
You can also check Yahoo! genealogy answers; then there is my "short
answer" (Yahoo! doesn't like long answers.): <br>
You should start by asking all your living relatives about family
history. Then, armed with that information, you can go to your public
library and check to see if it has a genealogy department. Most do
nowadays; also, don't forget to check at community colleges,
universities, etc. Our public library has both www.ancestry.com and
www.heritagequest.com free for anyone to use (no library card
required). <br>
Another place to check out is any of the Mormon's Family History
Centers. They allow people to search for their family history (and,
NO, they don't try to convert you). <br>
A third option is one of the following websites: <br>
<a href="http://www.searchforancestors.com/..."
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.searchforancestors.com/...</a>
<br>
<br>
<a href="http://www.censusrecords.net/?o_xid=2739..."
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.censusrecords.net/?o_xid=2739...</a>

<br>
http://www.accessgenealogy.com/... <br>
<br>
http://www.cyndislist.com/ <br>
<br>
www dot geni dot com/ <br>
<br>
Cyndi's has the most links to genealogy websites, whether ship's
passenger lists, ancestors from Africa, ancestors from the
Philippines, where ever and whatever. <br>
<br>
Of course, you may be successful by googling: "john doe, born 1620,
plimouth, massachusetts" as an example. <br>
<br>
Good luck and have fun! <br>
<br>
Check out this article on five great free genealogy websites: <br>
<br>
www dot associatedcontent dot com/article... <br>
<br>
Then there is the DNA test; if you decide you want to REALLY know
where your ancestors came from opt for the DNA test. Besides all the
mistakes that officials commonly make, from 10% to 20% of birth
certificates list the father wrong; that is, mama was doing the
hanky-panky and someone else was the REAL father. That won't show up
on the internet or in books; it WILL show up in DNA. <br>
I used www.familytreedna.com which works with the National Geographics
Genotype Program.

why in matthew gospel "jesus genealogy" is listed "joseph the father of jesus"; indicating no 'virgin birth'?

answers1: have you dealt with daniel 9. 25 and foll yet??
answers2: hi, I'm going to say something that church does not want you
to hear. <br>
<br>
Evolution is correct. BUT... I am a Christian. So where is the
mistake, you ask? <br>
<br>
The mistake is in the ridiculous translation of people who want your
money... - I mean preachers. <br>
<br>
God created the Earth, It was perfect. God then sent his perfect
servant to the Earth to do a perfect job. ( That servant was Lucifer;
that job was making man. - " ... Let us make man in our image. ") <br>
<br>
Lucifer rebelled, and made an imperfect hominid. - The Cro-mags...,
Neanderthals, ( who died out. ) then at least three different human
species. ( Europeans. Asians, and Africans. ) <br>
<br>
millions of years later, God decided to do something about the
imperfection, HE created Adam, and created him perfectly. The original
plan was to "breed" the imperfection out of the hominids, by having
lots of perfect kids with his perfect wife Eve. But Adam fell - How?
you ask?... Well, one of these imperfect hominids approached Eve in
the garden, and tricked her into a sexual sin. The term serpent was
not snake-species, it was snake-in-the-grass. ( A fitting description
for a guy who is seducing a young girl. ) <br>
<br>
Genesis chp. 3 -- " Has God said that you may eat of every tree in the
garden? " That little stud wanted Eve to perform oral sex. Eve did,
then... "... the woman took the fruit thereof to her husband, and he
did eat. " The act of ingesting the imperfect DNA of the imperfect
hominid, caused Adam's perfect body to become imperfect. So, breeding
the imperfection out was no longer possible. <br>
<br>
God's next perfect person was Jesus, ( A biologically engineered human
man. ) Conceived of a virgin. ( So that he was not part of the
imperfect blood-lines of all of the other people of the Earth. ) God's
plan this time was not to breed imperfection out, but instead to
sacrifice that perfect blood, as a payment for all of the imperfection
that was here. <br>
<br>
Why did God need a payment you might ask? <br>
<br>
Before Adam fell, God gave him the authority to do his perfect job. -
Genesis chp. 2 - " ... Be fruitful and multiply, replenish and subdue
the Earth, HAVE DOMINION. " That word dominion is ownership. <br>
<br>
God gave the Earth to Adam. When Adam died, that ownership did not
pass back to God. It passed to all of the human's that followed. If
you doubt me, look at anything... It is man who dominates everything
on this world, even when God wants something done, it is man's hands
that do it. <br>
<br>
Now, in the imperfect world, God needs a man to do the act. So Jesus
did the act of sacrifice, so that God has the right to raise any of us
perfect, from the dead. BUT, Jesus' sacrifice did not give God the
ability to save ME. I must give God that ability by: <br>
<br>
Romans 10:9 and 10 is how to be covered by the blood of Jesus. <br>
<br>
"That if thou confess with thy mouth the lord Jesus, and believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with
the mouth confession is made unto salvation." <br>
<br>
No money is required, no building ( a church ) needs to entered, and
no believing in ridiculousness is needed. <br>
<br>
That confess/believe is the "permission" that God needs to raise me
perfect, just as HE had always wanted. <br>
<br>
So, evolution is real... But science has got it a little wrong when
they thought that it proves the bible wrong. In fact, it only proves
that the church doctrine/interpretation is wrong and completely
ridiculous. <br>
<br>
BUT... God is real, and using your education to interpret scripture
will give you an insight that is more powerful than anything that
church has to say. <br>
<br>
So, Jesus was a man, born outside of the imperfect blood-lines of the
Earth. He was born in Bethlehem, Israel, sometime between 7 B.C., and
5 B.C., and his father was God, the creator of the Earth. ( Joseph was
Mary's husband,and adoptive father of Jesus on this planet. ) Joseph
was also a direct descendant of King David, Joseph's adopting Jesus
gave Jesus the blood-line right to the throne of Judea. That throne is
the one that is eventually going to be the ruler-ship of the entire
world.
answers3: Joseph was the earthly father figure to Jesus. <br>
<br>
The primary reason why the geneologies in Mathew and Luke get
confusing is because <br>
In mathew it mentions Joseph's true biological father Jacob....But <br>
In Luke it mentions Joseph's father in-law Heli. <br>
By technicality when Joseph and Mary "hooked-up",Heli became Joseph's
father also. <br>
NOW.......... <br>
To understand why a virgin birth was even necessary, you need to
understand that, <br>
the messianic bloodline from Adam to Jesus had to have God's provision
and blessing to work. <br>
But, there is an account in Kings or Chronicles were God pronounces a
blood curse <br>
on Jechonias. You'd think that God had shot himself in the foot. <br>
I could only imagine the response in the councils of satan. <br>
<br>
Now Jechonias was part of the lineage from David's son Solomon down to
Joseph. <br>
But because of this curse, God went through David's other son Nathan
down to Mary Alone.
answers4: The rules of society at that time. Even an adopted son
would inherit his adoptive father's lineage. Even today the same
happens... my niece is adopted, but she is still my niece and she is
cousin to my daughter. <br>
<br>
You are incorrect in stating that lineage is only through the father.
You are thinking of kings/nobles during the Middle Ages and later in
which inheritance was father to son or closest male relative. That
was not the case in the ancient Jewish world. For that matter the
genealogy of Jesus does include other females.
answers5: You NEED To Study About Yoseph The Uncle... <br>
<br>
NEVER Feel Desperate... <br>
<br>
And Don't Thank me, Simon... <br>
<br>
Thank ABBA YAHUEH ALMIGHTY...
answers6: Even more interesting, why is Joseph virtually eradicated
from the gospels?
answers7: The genealogies in Matthew and Luke are fabrications, so you
can't tell anything factual from them. Each of those writers wanted to
show that Jesus was descended from David, so they separately made up
the respective genealogies. That is why they contradict each other.
<br>
<br>
They each provided their fabricated genealogies as showing the descent
from David through Joseph, which would have been according to the
legal descent, since Joseph was the husband of Mary. <br>
<br>
Since the genealogies are contradictory, some Bible apologists try to
say that the genealogy in Luke is actually that of Mary. However, Mary
is not even mentioned in that genealogy. If that genealogy was that of
Mary, why doesn't her name appear in it? <br>
<br>
That is especially relevant because Luke mentions Mary in the birth
stories much more than Matthew does. For example, instead of Joseph,
it is Mary whom the angel appears to concerning the coming birth of
Jesus. There are also several other narratives about Mary, indicating
the importance that Luke gave her. In that case, why wouldn't he have
mentioned Mary in the genealogy if he intended it to be hers? <br>
<br>
In any case, according to Luke, Mary was Elizabeth's cousin (suggenes
in the original Greek, which indicates a blood relative). Since
Elizabeth was of the priestly tribe of Levi, Mary would also have been
of that descent and could therefore not have been a descendant of
David. That is, if you believe what Luke says. <br>
<br>
It should be noted that Mary's name does appear in Joseph's genealogy
in Matthew, where it states that Joseph was the husband of Mary. So
if, as Bible believers claim, women were not mentioned in genealogies,
why did Matthew mention her name? And why did Luke also not mention
her name, especially considering the importance he gave her, as I
described above? <br>
<br>
Those who say that the genealogy in Luke is Mary's therefore have no
basis for saying that other than wishful thinking.
answers8: I think that what they are saying is that Jesus is
considered the son of Joseph, though he was technically not.
answers9: Joseph was just covering for the Holy Spirit
answers10: Have you seen Luke's genealogy? They don't even agree on
who Joseph's father was.

Question about the author of a specific law?

answers1: The Senate enacted it, but he probably wants whoever brought
it in the first place? This page claims Principal Author/Principal
Sponsor was Marcelino Chicano Libanan, though he's bragging about his
accomplishments so may be lying. <br>

This will give you some insight on it. I believe you're right unless

answers3: I'm guessing your teacher wants you to dig deep enough to
know which senators wrote the bill. The hundred of them don't sit down
together and pound out a potential law. Certain ones, most often
either members of a committee or those who share a particular concern
affecting their states, meet to craft a bill which is then presented
to the senate.

Do authors make good money?

answers1: Writing as a full time career is a difficult thing. You will
be broke in no time. <br>
You really need to have a proper day time job in order to make a
decent money and right novels in your free time or part time. Because
each novel of yours that sells ... you get only 10% of it's price...
!!! And even then if you have an agent you will have to pay some
amount to him.. So yeah... <br>
Take the safe job.. .and write for the love of it. !!!
answers2: only if they're very good writers or if their books are very
well known
answers3: Not usually. <br>
If you made it big time, then yes. Ex: JK Rowling <br>
<br>
I want to be an author too. I'm planning to get a normal job and write
novels at night :)
answers4: No... they make BAD money... Just kidding. But in all
seriousness they usually make VERY little money, although if your
really good, or have a REALLY good story, then you can be very
successful. It's kinda like a singing or acting career... it usually
doesn't work. Just don't do it for the money.
answers5: That really depends on their level of success. Most authors
don't end up rich like Stephen King or JK Rowling. A lot of writers
work as Creative Writing or English Professors. Quite often, writing
doesn't pay the bills long term. That's no reason not to try though!
Someone has to be a future Stephen King, etc. You should definitely
plan to go to college and take English, English Literature and
Creative Writing courses.
answers6: A very small percentage of them. Most writers keep their day
job. When people tell you to have something to fall back on they're
not kidding.

Book Suggestions- Russian authors?

answers1: Hi ! <br>
Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky ; <br>
*"Crime and Punishment focuses on the mental anguish and moral
dilemmas of Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov, an impoverished St.
Petersburg ex-student who formulates and executes a plan to kill a
hated, unscrupulous pawnbroker seemingly for her money, thereby
solving his financial problems and at the same time, he argues,
ridding the world of an evil worthless parasite. Raskolnikov also
strives to be an extraordinary being, similar to Napoleon, believing
that murder is permissible in pursuit of a higher purpose." <br>
*http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_and_Punishment <br>
<br>
=^,,^= <br>

answers2: Of course the above posted standbys, but for something
different try <br>
Lermontov "Hero of Our Time" <br>
Mikhail Bulgakov "The Master and Margarita" <br>
and then Zamyatin "We" (it's a dystopian fiction). <br>
<br>
or if you like weird, Kafka-esque stories try Gogol's short stories.
answers3: I am russian but I don't know any authors
answers4: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Russian_novels
answers5
: Well there are the givens--Tolstoy (War and Peace) and
Dostoevsky (Crime and Punishment--which I fully recommend). <br>
<br>
Nabokov-- "Lolita" <--fantastic.
answers6: She immigrated to america from Russia so I'm not sure if it
counts, but I love Ayn Rand. I would suggest either Anthem, The
Fountainhead, or, best of all, Atlas Shrugged. Great books.
answers7: Crime & Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky <br>
The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky <br>
The Gambler by Fyodor Dostoevsky <br>
The Brother Karamazov by Fyodor Doestoevsky <br>
Night Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko <br>
<br>
Individual authors of Russian literature include: <br>
Anton Chekhov, Nikolai Gogol, and Aleksandr Sergeevich Pushkin.
answers8: Dostoevsky is the BEST! Crime and Punishment gets a bad rap
for being boring but it is far from it. It's about several murders but
it's not a murder mystery. It's way good.
answers9: Yes, CRIME AND PUNISHMENT by Fyodor Dostoevsky. He also
wrote THE BROTHERS KARAMOZOV. Leo Tolstoy wrote ANNA KARENINA and WAR
AND PEACE. All four are masterpieces. Coming more into the modern
day era. You have LOLITA by Vladamir Nabokov and DR. ZHIVAGO by Boris
Pasternak. I hope this helps.

How hard is it to be a author?

answers1: it can be really easy. self publishing is simple, but
getting properly published takes years. age doesn't matter though,
it's your writing that's important. please read my prologue <br>
<a href="http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvqnvoPIJMchXZF8oIREXYjsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20091017161234AAUvM7k"class=Clr-b>http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...</a>
<br>
<br>
Dee
answers2: easy, you already are..
answers3: first you have to have a great desire to share information
about something you know well. You have to know a lot about it
because well a book is maybe 300 pages and you'd have to write more
than 900 pages initially (and then cut it down leaving the important
stuff). You'd need someone to correct your spelling and sentence
structure and to type it up. It's difficult to find someone who would
type it up from a tape recording, and difficult to find someone to
type it from notes so you may end up typing it up yourself. So why
not sit down at the typewriter and just begin to compose. The best
I'd say would be to write several short stories. <br>
<br>
Then you choose what picture you want for the cover and what
information you want on the back. You choose the pictures for the
inside or if the book is an easy read and holds your attention and is
a paperback then it's ok not to have pictures. Putting the book into
chapters I found was difficult to do. And I did my book myself so did
several copies by xerox thinking that I'd make money but each cost me
about $13 (this was back around 1990 or so) but to pay for everything
else involved I had to charge $25. I was told at that time that I'd
have to choose the 100 copies for $1,000 by a nearby book printer (yes
they are around and you can find them on the net). They hadn't seen
the pictures yet so didn't include those in the price and then it got
pricey so that's why I chose to xerox. It took a lot of personal
effort to get out the first 25 books and save the money to get this
accomplished. Then there were the advertising costs and the
"expectance" that people would buy. Once your book starts to sell you
can consider yourself an author. You have to pay to have your book
advertised like on tv and radio and in magazines and on websites and
getting the first book off the ground is the most difficult. The
second time it goes easier for you and you use what you earned on the
first book to start the second book. Usually people work all their
lives and then have something to write about and some income from the
past to use toward being an author. <br>
<br>
As an afterthought I'd think that your education right now would be
more important than being an author and taking up your study time.
Writing does really take up a lot of time.
answers4: Just get a book out even if it doesn't sell one copy and
your an author
answers5: Well, if you want to be an English one then you need to use
the word 'an' in your question. <br>
Only you can tell your own story and what you have to do is make it
interesting enough for people to want to read it to the end. So you'd
pick an issue that worries people, especially a lifestyle issue, and
emphasise it so that people imagine they really do need to read what
you have to say in case they might find an answer or sympathy for
their own condition. Then start to drive the story via a series of
twists, turns and the odd dead end across the contemporary landscape.
<br>
It's not easy to get published unless you have something new and
potentially popular to say. Even then the publishers won't notice you
unless maybe you go via one of their agents. So it's hard, just like
being a top athlete. 50% talent, 50% training, and one without the
other seldom gets far.
answers6: When you are a kid author it is probably hard. plus you
don't know all the proper grammer.
answers7: No offense, but good grammar would help. You've got at
least three grammatical errors in your question. Learning to write
properly would be the first step.
answers8: it can take years to get a book published but you can just
write stories now. anyone can be an author as long as they have a good
imagination. and use better grammar. : )
answers9: How hard is it to be an author? <br>
<br>
You have to be willing to sit for hours on end working and working to
make nothing tangible - only a story that you pull from the deepest
corners of your psyche. You have to have the mental toughness to
withstand the inner voices that ask you why you aren't doing something
that financially makes more sense, why you keep working when you're
sure everything you've ever written sucks, and why you've never gotten
anything published yet. You have to have the strength to ignore all
the people asking when you're going to get a "real job." You have to
have the drive and the discipline to see a project through to the end,
to be critical of yourself while believing you have something worth
saying, to write the best thing you can. <br>
<br>
That's only the beginning. Then you have to have the courage to put
what you've written - little pieces of your soul, in essence - out
into the world for anyone to read. You're stripping yourself naked and
showing yourself to total strangers who will probably tell you you are
worthless as a writer and would be better off flipping burgers at
McDonald's. You are going to let your parents read the sex scenes, you
are going to let your significant other read the passages where your
character is unhappy with a relationship, you are going to let the
world read all the little bits of you that seep into your writing, and
you are going to be judged by them. You have to be able to stand up to
that. <br>
<br>
You have to love writing so much that you don't care that working at a
fast-food place makes more financial sense. You have to love writing
so much that even when the going is tough and each word feels like
pulling teeth, you sit at your keyboard and you keep working. You have
to love writing so much that you discipline yourself to finish things
by your deadlines, and you have to accept the fact that you may never
be published, and you have to keep writing anyways. <br>
<br>
And you have to clean up your grammar and spelling.
answers10: You become an author by getting a book published. <br>
<br>
And it can be quite difficult to do that.

How much will a new author be paid?

answers1: $100000000
answers2: Mark Twain began to jot down interior the 1860's, his works
are seen realism. maximum of Twain's books have been bought by skill
of subscription. Canvassers went homestead to homestead around the
country and have been given orders for his books from human beings one
after the different. Twain made an incredible variety of money
merchandising his books by skill of subscription.
answers3: Youll get paid depending on how much books you sell <br>
plus you have to pay your publisher and your agent and the editor
answers4: Very little. <br>
<br>
Authors are generally paid either solely in royalties, or with an
'advance' which is a one-off payment, off-set against royalties. The
idea is that your book will make the publisher enough money to pay
back this advance, and the publisher then doesn't start paying you
royalties until this advance has been recouped for the publisher.
However, if your book doesn't make enough to do this, you don't have
to pay your advance back. Realistically, a new author would be very
lucky to get as much as £1,000 (sorry, don't know what that is in US
dollars - about $1500 - $2000, I'd guess) for their first advance. You
will hear tales in the press of authors who got a £50,000 advance, but
it's incredibly rare. <br>
<br>
So, you get paid in royalties, which is a percentage of the profits of
your book. But other people have to make profits from your book too,
such as the bookstore who sells it, and your publisher, and your
agent, if you have one (and you'd be unlikely to get a book deal
without one, as very few publishers accept unsolicited manuscripts
from new authors). So, it really does depend on how many books you
sell. Your royalties are a small (ie, low single figures) percentage
of the book's cover price, but only if it's sold at full price. <br>
<br>
This link is a useful guide. However, I would say that their figures
are actually rather generous in comparison to reality. <br>
<br>
<a href="http://www.poewar.com/the-basics-of-book-profits/"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.poewar.com/the-basics-of-book...</a>
<br>
<br>
Most novelists don't even make a living wage out of writing. They do
other things as well. Terry Pratchett is one of the UK's best-selling
authors - he was the best-selling author of the 1990s in the UK, has
sold 55 million books worldwide, is translated into over 30 languages,
is one of the top-ten best-selling non-American authors in the US, etc
etc. He's very prolific, and he's written a huge number of books.
However... his first novel was published in 1971, and he didn't manage
to enough to give up his day job as a press officer until 1987. By
1987, he'd already had four Discworld novels published. That's one of
the most successful book series in the world. But it took that long
before he earned enough to write full-time. <br>
<br>
The absolute last reason anyone should write a book is money.

SQL: 3 tables (book, author, book_author)?

answers1: As you're using mySQL, you should look at the GROUP_CONCAT
function. It can be found at: <br>
<br>
<a href="http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/group-by-functions.html#function_group-concat"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/g...</a>
<br>
<br>
<br>
I don't have access to a mySQL database right at this moment that I
can check this works, but the following should do what you're after:
<br>
<br>
SELECT book.[book_id], book.[title], GROUP_CONCAT(author.[name]
SEPARATOR ', ') <br>
FROM (book INNER JOIN book_author <br>
ON book_author.[book_id] = book.[book_id]) <br>
INNER JOIN author.[author_id] <br>
ON author.[author_id] = book_author.[author_id] <br>
WHERE book.[book_id] = '1' <br>
<br>
<br>
Obviously change the where statement to whatever you want/need. <br>
<br>
<br>
Hope this helps! <br>
.

is books or tv better?

answers1: I prefer books
answers2: Books!
answers3: Well it really depends on the books/tv your
reading/watching. Some books (ie, non-fiction and educational) are
really great to read cause they are enjoyable and make you learn
something. Some TV programs are like that to (ie Documentaries). But
just cause a book isn't educational doesn't mean its not amazingly fun
to read, and its the same with tv. I absolutely adore both. I read
mystery/crime/historical fiction/non-fiction/sci-fi books, and I watch
mystery/crime/sci-fi tv programs. Its not like one or the other is bad
for you, unless you make your life based on it. Just remember that not
everything is about books or tv, and to go outside and play once and a
while. <br>
Hope I helped.
answers4: Books all the way. It can be nice to have a little bit of TV
now and again but with books there is so much imagination and hard
work put into them. It is amazing that you can sit down with a book
and get absoloutley glued to it. <br>
<br>
Books 100%
answers5: Team Books!
answers6: Yes, yes a book it is.
answers7: They're both good, depending on what you bring to them
and/or want from them. TV give us an instant look into our world, both
good and bad. I think it's crucial for a writer to know what his/her
fellow creatures are doing. <br>
Literary fiction and many PBS programs take us deeply into an
individual's world and maybe gives us insight into how a person deals
with its joys and woes. <br>
Mysteries, thrillers, and sci-fi books and TV let us escape the real
world for a while. <br>
To my mind, the only use for most reality TV is to give the writer an
insight into pathetic cries for recognition--which is also useful
fodder for the writer. Sorry, if you think that's too harsh.
answers8: Books.
answers9: Books!
answers10: I rarely have the tv on, I have too many books I want to read.
